After several years, and two different attempts, my time with eBay Stores has come to an end.
My first store was relatively successful but I had to close it due to being out of the country for several months. My second store was less successful, partially due I suppose to the economy, and partially due to eBay’s focus on the larger marketeers.. at the expense of the small sellers.
So as of September 30th, my eBay store has closed and I have imported all of my inventory over to Bonanzle.Â
Their user base seems to be growing nicely with some 3,300+ users on a recent check. At the same time their listings continue to grow, and most if not all are from small sellers… not the Best-Buys, Dell’s and other large name brands that are taking over eBay.
Bonanzle‘s visitor base continues to grow day by day as well and they are currently boasting some 4000 50,000 page views daily. And while I have yet to have a sale at Bonanzle, I am hedging my bet by also listing some of my more interesting items at Delcampe Auctions.![]()
Moving my listings to Bonanzle was quite simple. They have an online import tool that works quite well. Some of the html used in the eBay listings did not come across quite perfectly, but well enough for me go with it (even though Bonanzle recommends plain text). In under 20 minutes I was able to import some 500+ items and almost immediately get them available on Bonanzle.
Another plus at Bonanzle is their forums. There are lots of other users sharing tips, ideas and offers to assist others.
With a fee structure that only charges once an item is sold, I am quite optimistic about greater sales and greater profit on this new site. I’ll still use eBay for some of my auction item collectibles, but for store items I’m looking to Bonanzle as my new marketplace.
Now onto the job of moving all my links from this blog and other locations to Bonanzle.
I’m Tom Murphy and thanks for helping me give Ephemera the encore it deserves.

Hey Tom,
Thanks for the great writeup, and welcome to Bonanzle!
Just one correction to the article, I think you meant “4000″ visits per day, not “page views.” We were getting about 40,000 page views per day.
Of course, it increases every week, so by the time you print the numbers they’re usually outdated. Right now we’re up to about 5,000 visits per day and more than 50,000 page views.
Up up up we go! Really glad to have you aboard!

Well stated Tom! I must agree. Bonanzle is very easy to use making it quick to list. The folks there greet you with warmth which makes one feel nothing but welcomed. From what I have seen in my short time, everyone is more than eager to help. I must warn though, the positive, fun and the excitement is contageous … it can be catching.
Oh, some great stuff there too. Reminds me of another place from years gone past … over by the bay.
Go ahead, check it out!
Hi there !
I am a http://www.delcampe.net addicted. Can you please explain a little more why Bonanzle worth the choice ?
I left eBay some years ago and never found better than http://www.delcampe.com
Tom
We were displeased with the results of our stint with eBay. Not because of the lack of trying to build our brand there but with the constant changes that we had to keep up with just with eBay alone. It seemed like we were constanly making change s to a market lace that was changing the rules every time we turned around. At some point you have to weigh the labor costs in maintaining your presence with the sales from the venue. The ROI was lousy for the effort to keep up with the Jones’. While it was a difficult choice to leave because of the traffic potential, time has proven us correct in making that business decision. We now can maintain our level of customer service that we wanted to being with, make our sales goals and move onto other projects while growing the current projects that we are working.
Choosing Bonanzle was the right and best business decision that we could of made to meet our goals. The site is easy to navigate, listing is a breeze, we are satisfie with our views and sales, the communiy is a great bunch of folks that want what is right…. A venue to list at that doesn’t set you up to fail.
